HIDDEN HISTORIES

The Guelph Film Festival’s Hidden Histories project is an on-going short documentary project designed to provide opportunities for local and developing filmmakers to hone and present their work, while showcasing the wide array of lived experiences in our city and supporting underrepresented voices.

Well-being Through Stories

Well-being is enhanced when community members feel a sense of belonging and inclusion through cultural events and arts-based collaborations. Both the GFF and GNSC are committed to providing a platform for community members to tell their stories and hone their skills as storytellers (both live and through documentary filmmaking). Such a platform validates individuals’ position in our city and inspires others to consider their own stories and experiences in the context of storytelling. It directly creates opportunities for people to feel that their voice matters and that they can be participants and leaders in the arts and cultural community in their city.
