A Cree filmmaker and her white partner document their pregnancy and journey to parenthood. From the search for an Indigenous donor and midwife to their concerns about raising a child as an interracial queer couple, the joy of having a child together gives them the courage to overcome any obstacle.

THEOLA ROSS—Director Theola Ross is a Two-Spirit Queer Womxn from Pimichikamak Cree Nation. Her first language is Cree, the language of her ancestors. She is a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Social Work program at Ryerson University and has made Toronto her second home. Her work has centred around helping individuals struggling with the social-cultural context. She is a new mama to a bold Indigenous spirit named Kîwêtin who she parents with her partner Stefani in their cross-cultural, queer little family. Raising her daughter and healing herself through an Indigenous lens and decolonized action is of the utmost importance to Theola and her partner.
